ABOUT PIXICUTS
Hi, I’m Dana Luong — a footwear designer turned tech founder, obsessed with storytelling and the objects we keep to remember the people we love.

My family came to the U.S. from Vietnam. When they left, they had to burn most of what they owned — including their photographs. I grew up understanding that a picture isn't just a picture. It's proof that a moment happened. That people were together. That someone was loved.
Half a century plus, when my aunt brought a box of old photos to Thanksgiving, aunts, uncles, cousins came like vultures. Photos flying, trying to figure out who was who, we were pulling at versions no longer known. I found a photo of my divorced parents… together in their youth. The box was going to an estranged Uncle's house likely to never be seen again. I watched grown adults fight over film prints because those were the only copies that existed, or that had survived.
We take more photos now than any generation before us and somehow keep fewer of them
That’s why I built Pixicuts. To make it effortless to collect every moment and to turn them into keepsakes we can enjoy and share for generations to come.

THE STORY
I spent twenty years making things people wear. Now I make things people cherish.
Before Pixicuts, I was a footwear designer. Twenty years in fashion, traveling for inspiration, working with factories, obsessing over materials, learning that the difference between something disposable and something treasured comes down to craft. How it's made. How it feels in your hands. Whether someone cared about the details.
That instinct followed me here. When I saw how other photo-sharing platforms worked…upload, live slide show, download…done. I knew something was missing. They solved the logistics. But nobody was solving the emotion. Nobody was turning those photos into something you'd actually want to celebrate and give a home to.
I built Pixicuts the way I'd design a product: start with the feeling, work backward to the form. Every highlight reel is edited by a real person, directed by me. Every Instax album is hand-arranged and heat foiled on a vintage Kingsley. The QR cards are designed to feel like part of your event, not an afterthought.
We're a creative studio that happens to use technology, not the other way around. And every keepsake we make carries the same principle I learned making shoes, if it's worth making, it's worth making beautifully.
Details matter.
